Stopped by during the night happy hour on a Thursday to meet up with some old Co workers. They don't have angry orchard in tap any more, and is a summer beer. They had bottles, that'll do. I grabbed some pull tabs, won a couple bucks. We ordered food, I got the Buffalo wings and tots/rings bucket. The tots/rings were really crisp great flavor. Huge portions. Now onto the wings the flavor was good until I noticed one of the wing(the drummy) was kinda mushy towards the bone. The lighting is a little low in here. I looked closer and saw that the bone was pink, I thought ehh. I thought to myself hope I don't have food poisoning in the next day or two. I showed the wife, she confirmed. The rest of the wings was cooked throughly. I'm not a person who complains to the waiter unless the food is terrible. I usually did come here often until I got a new job. But this might just been a fluke for this one chicken wing. Ohh and I didn't get sick the next day or two, must have been the beers that helped with that. Gets 3.5 stars for me, a great place to hang out our meet up with buddies.

A SPORTS BAR BY ANY OTHER NAME IS STILL A SPORTS BAR First McSeans ( one of the managers might have pocketed money), then Bentley's ( ????? ) now Sak's from the famous restaurant family Cossak I'm told. All I can tell you about the food is that those were the best darn walleye fingers I've ever had, almost. Little or no breading, not fishy, just right ! My friend's Hot Dago seemed to please him as well. Hold on though, it took us 1 hour 20 minutes to get waited on , served, and eat at lunchtime. Holy Hannah, what if we had needed to get back to work? Our often missing server blamed it on malfunctioning computers. I'm blaming it on the Bossa Nova. All of the staff that day seemed to move in slow motion. REAL SLOW motion. Besides, if the computer goes down as often as she claimed, all the servers can resort to the old fashioned method.....pencil and paper !! They should be used to it. Where is the manager when that happens? Aren't they suppose to implement plan b ? That part of the experience was truly disappointing. And look-------every single TV is on a different station. Yay. Finally. Thank you. Too bad it was too chilly out ( Oct 14) to sit on the patio. That patio looked like someone's home patio that loves to garden. Simply beautiful. Next summer maybe I'll be in the neighborhood and try again outside. P R E T T I E S T P A T I O A R O U N D !!!!!!!!!

If you want a Juicy Lucy, Stick to the 5-8 Club. I ordered it "Where Oh where did my Cheese Go?" Squirted right out of the burger. Nice Job. NOT. The Fries were hot. NOT. My First Time at Sak's will be my last time at Sak's.

I know this place inside and out. The staff puts a lot of consideration into their weekly menu and their regular menu has some really good meals. A few of my favorites are the beef brisket sandwich, the cucumber chicken sandwich or the Asian style chicken salad. It's worth the visit. I you want a calm peaceful dinner don't come here on the night that the Wild are playing. Also 2 for 1's from 3-6 and 9-11!!!

wow, Impressive. Marguerite says "a sports bar by any other name is still a sports bar" and I would agree to this to a point, this is a better sports bar then most. The service was very fast and the happy hour a nice surprise. It was like Christmas and my birthday all wrapped into one and I'll I asked for was a Jack n Coke. Walleye fingers were very good and Pork Quesadilla also. Beer selection is good if not better than most in the area, and again the service was more than top notch. It was a great time, at a great place, after expecting less than good. It's still a sports bar, but it makes the Twins look better just by being there. I'm coming back for sure.

This is my favorite sports bar around White Bear Lake/Vadnais Heights area. Ever since I've moved back into town this has quickly become my local watering hole. First thing's first this place is definitely a sports bar. The walls are covered in TVs always playing ten different games. I have watched countless Wild games here and man does it get rowdy. It is very comparable to Buffalo Wild Wings in terms of atmosphere. Lots of people all watching one game or another, drinks in hand, excessive cheering, darts, deer hunter ect. Only difference is it doesn't have those terrible corporate policies and guidelines all the staff has to follow. That and a smaller selection of wings I suppose but It's a local joint and that's why I love it. The staff is great I'm getting to know all of them by name and they remember me and treat me well whenever I am in. They have a daily happy hour that's 2-4-1s at 9PM. That's what got us in there the first time and we just keep coming back. On top of the great sports bar atmosphere and nice drink specials the food is great and reasonably priced. My favorite thing to order is the Cuban. I've had my fair share of cubans and this one has got to be somewhere in the top 5 which is saying a lot coming from me. The appetizers are great too. If you're feeling something other than bar food they do have some great entrees available as well. I can't vouch for them though because I don't stray away from from the greasy bar food while I'm there. Oh Yea they have a volleyball court out back which is pretty neat.

I'm not sure what happened...? We had never been to Sak's and wanted to check it out. We were greeted by a friendly server who took our drink order and then helped describe the different items one being the Nacho's. She explained that they were a bit different in havi8ng everything on the side so you combined it as you wanted; stating that people really liked it so I thought I'd give it ago!(The Taco meat was noted for it's great flavor) The server was very pleasant and on top of refreshing our drinks and my boyfriend loved his burger although a bit shy on the Tator Tots he still enjoyed it. Me on the other hand found the chips all melted together with a side of very weak tasting taco meat, very little, lettuce, etc.... not very pleasing. I gave it a try to combine the items but after 1 chip and trying to combine the different sides I just wasn't happy it was to much work and very sloppy so I gave it back. Sadly the pleasant server decided to charge us for 1/2 the cost of the nachos??? I approached the bar tender asking to speak to a manager and she stated she was the manager on duty. In explaining the situatio9n she stead the server said I ate 1/2 of the nachos and there for wanted us to be charged for 1/2. What???? The manager was very courteous and professional and took the nachos off the tab completely but why the server acted like she did we have no idea? There are so many other places to go nearby that is unless someone insists on meeting at Saks there is no reason we would ever return there.

Good bar food. It's frequently very busy as one might expect since it's located adjacent to the rinks. Sometimes the wait staff can be a little spacey but get bartenders are very attentive and friendly in my experience. Love the open faced twisted tuna sandwich!!

I really like this place. We come always during the day and the service is always great. Have had a few of their sandwiched and really enjoyed all of them . Try a Cuban or Blackies spicy beef.

This is one of our favorite places to eat. The Beef and Garden is amazing. The name is deceiving as it is really a steak with a side salad. I was amazed you could get such a good steak at a sports bar. The turkey burger is one of the best I have ever had and I usually order it with mushrooms and swiss. The Hot Dago sliders are also great as well as the wings and quesadillas The service is great too.

Conveniently attached to the Vadnias Sports Complex, this place is appropriately a sports bar. Friend and I did lunch here about a week ago. They have a huge space, lots of TV's to catch games, some dart boards and pool tables. The service was alright and the food too was 'A-OK'. I'd go back but it wasn't stellar. It's better than Jimmy's and not as good as Mad Jacks (both similar and just down the road).

I looked at their menu before coming here. There happy hour appetizers aren't half-off, it's $2.00 off. They claim to be up-scale but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. My boyfriend ordered the Juicy Lucy, he said there wasn't anything special about it. There pulled pork quesadillas were ok, it came with a side of corn, beans and tomatoes mixed together and it tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a few days. We ordered a bucket of fries and onion rings, and the fries were soggy. The waiter asked if we wanted a box to go, I told him no and that the fries were soggy. He replied "Yea, I can understand that" And he still charged us for it. I wouldn't recommend this place and I definitely would not go back.
